Minimizer Laparoscopic Gastric Band
Minimizer Laparoscopic Gastric Band

Project: Minimizer Laparoscopic Gastric Band
Vernon Carus commissioned Clear Creative to create product literature and a direct mail campaign promoting a new surgical device called a laparoscopic band. This product is used to tie part of the gastrointestinal tract on an obese patient. The procedure is potentially life threatening if the surgical band slips. The USP of this product is that the device is guaranteed not to slip! A brave statement none the less!
Clear came up with the product name ‘Minimizer’ because it minimizes slippage risk due to the product's benefits of non-slip bands.
We also provided a visual concept demonstrating this rather than the age old picture of surgeons in an operating theatre. We used images of Sumo wrestlers to demonstrate obesity and the product's non-slip qualities. In Sumo wrestling if you slip – you lose!

Psystar selling software to run Snow Leopard on generic hardware - Oh, Psystar. We know you. We lov—well, we put up with you. But still, you continue to let the dream of Mac cloning live on, EULAs, sketchy products, and pending trials be damned.
The company's latest invention is Rebel EFI, a product sold exclusively through Psystar's company store for the "special price" of $50. It claims to offer the ability to run up to six operating systems (including Mac OS X Snow Leopard) on six different hard drives on the same computer.
